Berner Energy Recovery

Berner Energy Recovery Ventilators Provide Fresh Outside Air and Remove Stale Indoor Air.

Why Buildings Need Energy Recovery Ventilation Systems

We live, work, and play in totally enclosed spaces that recirculate as much as 90% of the conditioned air. People breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide. This decrease in oxygen creates unsafe indoor air quality, resulting in an environment that has highly concentrated germs and airborne contaminants.

Traditionally heating and cooling costs are lowered when recirculating indoor air, but indoor air quality is dangerously compromised. New building codes have started to address this by requiring about 20% more fresh air to be introduced through the heating/cooling systems. Fresh air that does not go through an Energy Recovery Ventilator is too hot and humid, or too cold and dry, resulting in increased heating and cooling costs.

Berner Energy Recovery Ventilators provide fresh air to meet (or exceed) new building code requirements, at operating costs equal to or lower than recirculated indoor air. Imagine the quality of air you would breathe at 50% or even 100% fresh air inside your buildings.

Berner Ventilation Equipment is the Solution for Indoor Air Quality Concerns

Berner’s ventilation equipment uses two air streams (Supply and Exhaust) and a triangular plenum to solve your indoor air quality concerns. The Supply air stream brings fresh air into the building. The Exhaust air stream takes stale air out of the building. The triangular plenum allows for equipment that is the lightest and quietest with the smallest footprint per cfm in the industry. The two air streams travel in opposite directions through the rotating Enthalpy Recovery Wheel, transferring energy and moisture from one air stream to the other. In the winter, valuable heat and humidity are transferred to the incoming fresh air. In the summer, unwanted heat and humidity are removed from the incoming fresh air. The result is a dramatic reduction in the building’s air conditioning and heating load.

Berner makes fresh air affordable!
